• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

I noticed in a couple of my posts, the edit feature is not available. Someone listed some items for sale in an old exhaust listing i had. I was going to edit my title to make buyers aware of the articles, but couldn't.
I've also tried to edit a post in the topic about warranty companies and again, I couldn't.
Thanks

not positive, but i believe there is a time limit on when you are able to edit your post.

I know it is like that on most boards i belong to.

That sounds plausible, but the i tried to edit the post I made in the "The Board of Inquiry" forum one minute after posting and was unable. I've only posted on two other forums and was always able to edit my posts there.

There is a 90 day window on editing posts on this site. After that editing is disabled. As for the Board Of Inquiry forum, that's a completely different animal. On another site I run, I found it necessary to make all posts carved in stone immediately. Too much risk of someone changing their story after the fact. When a bad guy realizes that he stuck his foot WAY down his own throat, you really don't want to make it easy for him to cover his tracks and edit out the evidence.

Yeah man......... I try to make it a point to proof read everything I post, but sometimes fall down on the job. I figured 90 days to edit was sufficient.....

I'm hoping it won't happen here, but on some of my other sites, I have had a member or three get torqued up over something and go back and edit out the text of EVERY message they ever posted. Really hacks the hell out of a thread when that happens. Yeah, mostly makes them look like a jerk, but still... So I have found it wise to put SOME kind of cap on that function.
