Default One Year Old Today!

Hey Jim!

Thanks for posting this! I’d owe you a coffee mug but you already have one! Hmmm, how ‘bout just filling it up!

There Is No Cure But
There Is Corvettes Anonymous!

Yes, we will definitely be at The Ultimate Party, so please do plan to stop by to say hello, fill a new prescription or re-fill an existing one.

This Forum was actually launched a year ago today!

Corvettes Anonymous was born the preceding September 9th at the Corvettes In Venice show.

What began as a friendly joke among a dozen or so enthusiasts who had predominantly not met one another has now grown to being a truly International Association.

As of 11/12/07, we have 329 members scattered across the US, Canada, UK, and Germany.

This year, we successfully completed two food drives to benefit the RCS Food Bank of Clearwater, FL.

With food donations, gift cards from sponsors, and the wonderful donations from Corvette Florida and Corvettes Anonymous members, we were able to deliver over 2700 pounds of food and personal hygiene products to the food bank.

This year, we also took a cue from Adam Wartell, founder of the C3 Vette Registry (www.c3vr.com or www.c3vetteregistry.com).

For those of you who do not know, Adam produces Corvettes For A Cure a show to benefit the Delaware Valley Alzheimer's Association.

With my father passing from Alzheimer's in ’05, and my mother nearly passing from a Caregivers Breakdown, we added the Florida Gulf Coast Alzheimer's Association as our second sponsored charity.

In our case, we are able to direct that 100% of our donations specifically go to help pay for Respite Care for Alzheimer's Caregivers.

In August, we made the trek to Carlisle where our concept was well received. Through God’s graces, we survived the Great Carlisle Tornado of ’07 with only the loss of our tent and a few clothing items. Others were not nearly so fortunate.

In spite of the losses, we were still able to make a reasonable donation to FGCAA. We certainly hope to do better through out 2008. To that end, Proceeds and / or Donations from The Ultimate Party next weekend will be directed to FGCAA. I hope you will indeed stop by to see us.

Carlisle was an incredible experience! If you haven’t been and go for the first time, be sure to have stocked up on your sleep! You will need it!

Throughout 2007 we added a number of new “meds” for both men and women to our Online Pharmacy. We also added gift certificates for those who either do their shopping at the last minute or are shopping for someone difficult to surprise.

If you miss The Ultimate Party, our “Online Pharmacy” is always open. Meds are just a click away so remember…..

There Is No Cure But
There Is Corvettes Anonymous!

Looking forward to 2008, we will be set up at the NCRS show in Kissimmee January 9—13.

We will also be producing Steak-Out ’08 to benefit RCS Food Bank.

This marks our 4th year of producing this event and we have definite plans to make it bigger than last year. Details will follow later, but plan on attending.

For those local CA members, we will resume our cruises sometime in January. Check the “Events” page of our website and look for email announcements. If you have any suggestions, chime in!

We’ve already received some great suggestions from members who are also members of Tampa Bay Vettes. So to you, Jim, Teresa, and Mike, even if it is just me, we are going to do one of your breakfasts! When is November’s?

Without a doubt, this year has been an “E” ticket ride!

We appreciate whole heartedly, the support we have received from Rich and our friends here at Corvette Florida. We also look forward to more of you becoming members. (Who would have thought!)

Always remember….

There Is No Cure but
There Is Corvettes Anonymous!

And there is always room for new members on The Couch.

Thanks again!

TM
