Default FS (For Sale) 2005 Corvette Z51 S480 Turbo 6 Speed TR6060 900HP 3LT

Price: $29,500

Thinking about selling my 2005 single turbo corvette. I currently have two c6 corvettes and i’m thinking of selling this one and building my z06, or building a 1969 camaro. It has been an absolute blast to build it and drive it but the build is over and I've had my fun with it so it’s time to move on. I have a clean title in hand and in my name. Carfax is clean as well.

I bought this 2005 Corvette Z51 bone stock in Myrtle beach in April of 2019. I then drove it 900 miles back to NH with the AC on averaging 23MPG without a single issue. It is a true Z51 car so its got the larger brakes, more aggressive suspension, oil cooler and larger swaybars. It also is a 3LT car so it has Bose sound, heads up display, memory seats, heated seats, power seats etc. Just about as loaded as you could get a 2005 Corvette. It was a Florida car before it was in myrtle beach, and it spent all of last winter in the garage, so needless to say the car is immaculate underneath without a spec of rust or corrosion anywhere. The car hung around for about a month before I finally dug into it and started the turbo build that I had always wanted to do. The turbo build was started around 105,000 miles and the car currently has just under 108,000. It spends most of its time in the garage on the battery tender. The turbo build is highlighted from start to finish in the forced induction section if anyone is interested.

With the known weak differential of the 2005 corvette, I purchased a wrecked 2008 corvette convertible last year and swapped the complete TR6060 transmission and much stronger rear differential and axles to the car. it was a complete cradle, torque tube, axles etc swap. The only thing I kept from the 2005 car was the larger Z51 brakes and the larger swaybars. I also snagged the mint black interior and nicer 2008+ carbon fiber center console from the 2008 car. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the build specs. As I said, the car was bone stock when I bought it, and all build parts were purchased new, so everything you see below is basically new and has less than 3k miles on it.

The turbo kit was completely custom made by myself. I worked very hard to keep AC, not cut the hood, and somehow stuff a 80mm turbo down near the radiator. I have yet to see another setup like it. The entire hotside is tig welded 304SS, all argon backpurged and welded correctly. I also worked hard to keep wiring and other engine bay lines as clean as possible. Lots of lines and harnesses were relocated or hidden to keep everything as clean as possible.

The car was tuned by the LS specialist Josh at Performance Dyno in Loudon NH. Currently tuned on speed density. The car made just under 700HP on 93 octane and ~11PSI. On flex fuel ~E65 the car made over 900HP on 18PSI. Knowing that the car still has the stock bottom end LS2, i have had it running around on ~14PSI all summer. Boost is easily adjustable with the push of a button from the drivers seat with the EBoost2 mounted near the traction control button. The car drives almost like stock with virtually no cam surge. The clutch is extremely light and engages very smoothly. The car drives beautifully. It cruises down the highway at 80+ MPH and coolant temps typically run around 196F when cruising. No check engine lights or anything like that. Car fires right up and runs well.

Exterior is extremely clean for the mileage. Only flaws are some minor rock chips on the front bumper and a scratch on the lower rocker on passenger’s side that was there when I bought the car. Barely noticeable since it’s so low. Paint shines beautifully, was recently corrected and sealed using blackfire products. Interior is basically flawless with no rips, tears, weird smells or anything else. Center console doesnt always latch, but that’s what gravity is for. All creature comforts, windows, heat, AC, radio, etc work perfectly.

I think that pretty much covers it. The car has been a blast to own and is scary fast, but its time for another project. That being said, I by no means have to sell so lowballs or negative comments will be ignored. There is not another turbo car like this for sale anywhere, and single turbo vettes don’t come up for sale often. I have a 100% feedback rating here, on ebay and on various other forums with the same username. I am happy to work with out of state buyers for shipping, walkaround videos, etc.

The car is located in Portsmouth NH, just 50 minutes north of Boston MA.
