Criterion 3003 Speaker Cabinets (2)
I looked all over the web for info on these guys but found NOTHING. I've had then for a LONG time. Originally bought them at Lafayette Electronics in Baltimore, MD back in the early 80s. Have since replaced the woofers and the passive radiators recently. The heil air motion transformers (the reason I bought these speakers) are still going strong.
The cabinets need to be refinished. They came with a plastic stick on veneer that is beginning to come off from age. A good cabinet maker could put a wood veneer on these boxes and they would look dynamite. I have the front speaker grills somewhere, but I believe they will need to be re-covered as well. I think I have some speaker grill material around here somewhere that I was intending to use for this purpose.
Quite honestly, if I had the space, these babies wouldn't be going anywhere. They sound absolutely gorgeous. If I thought I could get away with putting them in the family room along with my other home theater speakers, I would do it in a heartbeat.
I have no idea what I paid for them back then, nor what they would run now, IF you could even find them anywhere.
Asking $800 for the pair. Pickup or convenient meeting place for both parties required.
