Default How Accurate is the PASSPORT G-Timer GT2/GT1

Just got a booklet in the mail from ESCORT regarding t their Escort c550-which I wasn't interested at this time, both their Passports 8500 X50 Red and Blue (displays) Units, the Cordless Solo S2 and last but not least, the Passport G-timer GT1 or GT2 Series. The GT1 unit is the High-contrast LCD Display and the GT2 unit is the Ultra-bright Graphics Display.
My question is this: How accurate is this unit for acceration times for your car vs. the timer used at any speedway? I mean this unit supposedly gives you your cars' acceleration times, 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, Horsepower and other units of measurements but, these would probably be the only ones I would primarily be concerned with. Are these times given to you by this unit fairly accurate? Does anyone know of any hard facts either attesting to or against the accuracy of this type of unit? Is one unit better or more accurate than the other?
Thanks...
