Gonna start? I don't know about you guys but I'm getting hammered every month already by the electric company here. They raised the rates AGAIN recently. They want to build new nuclear reactors and such,,,, but they don't want to use their previously obtained profits. They want us to fund the entire build before the profits are even touched. What other business is there out in the world that can charge you up front for their renovations, and you have NO SAY SO in the matter? (ok besides taxes).

IDK? Insurance companies maybe?

I'm with you bro!

Trying to find alternate ways to generate power. I'd put up a freaking windmill if I could! I hate the power companies almost as much as the insurance companies

Andy, Rich, I agree.

Andy, your grandfather had the right idea

Rich, For now, from what I can tell, you're right on the money. It's a communter, plain and simple. Hell, my average day is over 150 miles so it wouldn't do me any good at all

As I mentioned, if they could come up with a regenerative system (like the Prius or Andy's Grandfathers idea) then it could be danged near perfect!

Most of the inherent difficulties in using a turbine to power an automobile would be
eliminated, and fuel mileage would probably be increased as well. The turbine may be able
to be designed in such a way as to be able to power the car, at a very reduced speed,
for a short distance of less than 5 - 10 miles as well in case of emergency. Just throwin' some ideas out there.
