UGH, Here we go again..... The insurance companies are loving this,,, they are putting that down payment on a new private tropical island as we speak.... They are drooling at the 150% rate increases coming after this season!

If such an increase comes to pass, I certainly will be dropping my home owner's insurance. I would be better off putting that kind of money into a bank account instead of just pissing it away to an insurance company.

ouch!! yup here we go again! how many of these do you have to go thru before you become a native ??

Most people can't drop their insurance. The mortgage companies require it to remain active on the home. If we drop the insurance they tell the mortage company who forcloses on the home to protect their investment.

:shrug01:Make sure your gas cans are full and "stabilized", your food stocks are well supplemented, your beer supply is adequate and your friends are safe and enjoy Florida.

From a native.

Ken:thumbsup:

Ken,

I either forgot or didn't know you were a native.:shrug01:
Guess I'll need to speak well of Floridiots ..oh sorry, Natives from now on.:hehehe::D

Fortunately my house is paid for, so I have that option to entertain. I sure wish I had a business where laws REQUIRE customers to buy my products. You do have to wonder how that came about.....

LOTS of dollars crossing palms, evidently.....

Looks like the latest forecast is calling for Gustav to reach 120mph winds before barely clipping the western tip of Cuba and not even slowing down when it gets out into the open Gulf of Mexico. This one could become a real bear before it makes landfall.... One it is in the Gulf, SOMEBODY is going to get pummeled. They normally don't just evaporate once in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hah! The sad thing is that Floridians are now known nationwide for their "hanging chads". :lmao:

I was contacted, as a taxpayer and voter, to apply to be part of the committe that examined those voter cards.
I sent in my registration card, noting I was a registered Republican.

I never got a call back.

Hmmm?

Looks like Louisiana is going to get slammed by Gustav. But Florida is certainly going to catch a bunch of feeder bands as the hurricane crosses the Gulf. Could trigger some tornadoes, so keep an eye on the weather...
