Have you written to Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson and also your Congressman to ask for help? I'm also curious if any theft charges have been filed?

it was all included in my paperwork to the state.

I don't think your initial complaints are going to do the job. All of you need to become very vocal and a pain in the azz to anyone that should or can help you. You need to contact Bronson, your state reps, BBB, local news stations and anyone else you can think of. I'm being given this info by someone that knows how the state works these complaints.

By the way, John Arnold asked to spread the word to anyone who still has a car or parts in his building in Blountstown where Chris used to work. He would like to get them out of there ASAP. So if you know of someone who has a car or parts there, and they are not aware of what is going on right now, please let them know.

Someoneyoushouldknow 09-24-2010 09:44 PM

Well, I can't get there since I'm in Iraq, but if anyone finds my LS2 fuel rails and injectors...I would love to have them. Along with my old motor.....

If I would have thought about it (and there was any light in that room) I guess I should have taken video of the contents of that parts room to see if anyone could identify what is in there. I have to run back there one more time to drop off that extra wheel lock socket, but quite honestly, I really don't ever want to see that building again in the rest of my lifetime.

THUNDER 09-25-2010 01:31 AM

Thanks, but not sure we are going anywhere this weekend. Been spending way too much time driving between Blountstown and Thomasville lately. Not getting anything done around here.

vetteguy61 09-25-2010 11:17 AM

Been trying to figure out all the parts I'm missing this morning. So far from what I know was not found at the shop totals to $1300.00 I'm sure as the putting together of my car starts that list will increase along with the cost.
If I ever buy another new car nothing will be changed on it.

THUNDER 09-25-2010 11:35 AM

Heading after my car now

THUNDER 09-25-2010 02:24 PM

Well got my car. Time for another 5 ir 6 months of sitting if we dont. Just sell it as is.

About the turbo housings coating by Jet Hot...

It really starts here on 01-05-2010, 06:48 PM

I asked Chris to send the turbos off to have them Jet Hot coated, so they are on the way out there. Hopefully the turn around time will be quick enough to now hold up things once the engine is back.

I sure am looking forward to having this over and done with so I can bring my car back home.

I didn't make note of the date anywhere, apparently, but sometime between the end of July and the first week of August, Chris had my car up on the lift. I noticed that every time I walked towards the rear of the car to look at my turbos, Chris found something for me to do for him. Get this tool or that, or run out to Autozone to get something for him he needed. This happened a good half a dozen times, and I finally just ignored him so I could look at my turbos that were supposedly Jet Hot ceramic coated. I guess he just thought I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between something ceramic coated and simply spray painted with gray paint. He said he thought the coating looked crappy himself and spray painted clear over it to try to make it look better. Yeah, right..... I suppose it was just a coincidence that there was a can of gray spray paint on the table that exactly matched the paint on those turbos. And I could see where the bolt heads had over spray on them.

I figured it would be senseless to try to get the truth out of Chris, so I went along with his claim that it was Jet Hot that did a piss poor coating on those turbo housings. He said he would pull them back off and send them back to be recoated properly by Jet Hot on THEIR dime. I really knew what was going on, but the best path at this point appeared to just allow Chris the opportunity to fix this issue. By giving him enough wiggle room, I felt I could get what I actually paid him for.

But such was not to be the case. What follows is a series of emails, starting with those passed between Chris and myself concerning those turbos after they were supposedly sent back to Jet Hot for the recoating.

You don't need the turbos to do that, and honestly, I would rather not have the break-in oil flowing through the turbos anyway. So please replace those gaskets causing the coolant leak today so the entire day isn't wasted on my car. It's already Wednesday.

I want to bring Connie by there Thursday or Friday and I want her to see the car COMPLETE to ease her mind. That means the panels installed in the insides of the wheel wells, etc. Try to get the guy you mentioned to see about buffing out those scratches. I know she's going to be pissed to see that. She's more protective of that car than even I am.

Unfortunately a lot of details done via phone and in person at Chris's shop just were not captured. But I think the above gives a pretty good idea of what was really going on.

Now, I will copy emails between myself and Kevin Pell, who is the Senior Sales Manager at Jet Hot.

Very interesting reading Rich. Goes along with what I figured all along on your car and mine.Chris cut corners to make extra profit at our expense. I'm pretty sure Chris didn't buy those LS6 heads from Texas Speed. With no id or part numbers on them it really makes me wonder where they came from and should I put them on my car. I plan to take the list of parts with replacement cost with me to Bluntstown tomorrow. I know Chris won't show so I'll just take the to the Calhoun County Sheriffs office and press theft charges against. Those parts were on my car when I DROVE it there on Mar 9th.The final cost I came up with for what I know for sure I don't have is $1494.00
Your car sounded really good.Sure hope you drive it home this week.

Someoneyoushouldknow 09-26-2010 03:42 PM

WOW Rich! I think the way you've kept track of all that is amazing. Even the investigator will be able to follow along and hopefully DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

I have a feeling that you probably paid for my engine.

This is just so disgusting. I have to say that I think all of you let things go way to long but if I were in your shoes I may have done the same thing. How many times did you ask for receipts and he just ignored your requests?

Rich, this guy is not just a lousy business man but he's a con man and none of you should rest until he's in prison. Did you see my post at the top of page 5? That is info that was given to me by someone that knows how the state operates. According to this person just filing a complaint will do nothing except possibly allow the state to collect fines that they will keep. No justice for any of you. I'm trying to remember but I think they also said that you have to file a criminal complaint. I think this is something in addition to a regular complaint about the business.

I would take whatever police dept Thunder took with him. That will start giving Chris a track record and a name they will remember. I think Dan also had parts stolen.

unfortunately, he lives in Leon County and the shop is in Calhoun County, its hard to get the agencies to communicate.

Yea, the B-town police department said it was a civil matter :shrug01:

I mean...to me...a theft is a theft but to people who are uninterested in doing their job..i guess not.

I think the District Attorney would be a good bet.

I believe that is why this needs to be handled at the STATE level. And yes, I agree, both criminal and civil actions will need to be initiated by anyone who feels they have a legitimate claim against Chris Harwood.

For the record I have filed an affidavit with Bob Buchholz concerning what I perceive as fraud, perpetrated by Chris Harwood claiming to have had my turbos Jet Hot coated when all of the above mentioned evidence points to it clearly not happening.

Furthermore, I suspect that I did not get the transmission and differential I paid Chris for, and I intend to have them inspected to make that determination. The receipt I got from Chris indicates that the case for the transmission was media blasted, which the transmission I saw that Chris said was for my car (before he spray painted it) was clearly not done so. What I got looked like it was freshly out of a car and not cleaned up externally beyond maybe sprayed with Simple Green and wiped off.

Someoneyoushouldknow 09-26-2010 06:55 PM

I wish there was someone in Tallahassee or close by with a shop that would take a look at my car and see what they could find out about my car and the engine that's in it. I just don't have the extra money right now. I am up to my eyeballs in renovations.

Fatbum 09-26-2010 06:57 PM

I for one would like to know whose truck half the parts on my car came off. The wires, valve covers, oil cap/extension, F'd up fuel injectors. Anyone have their truck destroyed by Chris?

Someoneyoushouldknow 09-26-2010 06:59 PM

He had a truck for a while a black GMC or Chevy I think.

Was it a newer one? The injectors were off a 5.3L FlexFuel motor.

Someoneyoushouldknow 09-26-2010 07:24 PM

I don't think it was that new.

vetteguy61 09-26-2010 08:13 PM

What type of fuel injectors did you have on your GTO dan. Chris put a brand new set of Boush injectors plus fuel rails when he did my motor the first time.

THUNDER 09-26-2010 08:24 PM

THUNDER 09-26-2010 08:49 PM

Take any and all papperwork with you.

RevXtreme 1 09-26-2010 08:50 PM

Bob, did you watch earlier with Emily & Peter at Zmax last weekend? He became the 4h person in history to win a NHRA National event in 5 different classes!

As for the criminal part of this issue, I have been through it all trying to get charges brought aganist the ex-partner that made off with over $100k (total of nearly $250,000 is missing) but all came down to the same thing. "It's a civil matter". Same with the guy I sold the big race rig to and finianced it for...he made payments for 1 year and then quit paying. $250k rig gone and no law enforcement agency will help. Again, "It's a civil matter". Between the 2 of them it wiped me out of everything....Atty starts at $10k retainer and thats just the start.

THUNDER 09-26-2010 09:28 PM

But the fraud charges will not be considered cival. Since its a bus. Haveing my brother inlaw look into it. He is a paralegal.

Bob K 09-26-2010 10:03 PM

OK, here's the info as promised. Also check the link at the bottom of my post. The ball is really 'in your court'. Get it? :rofl1:

No, it's not difficult to get them to communicate!

You file your police report in the proper jurisdiction, have the detective assigned to the case contact the other jurisdictions detective/patrol supervisor, and have them respond with him to the scene to do an interview.

If there's any other reason for the individuals involved to go to Chris' house (which there's really not at this point), then all they need to do is provide the local jurisdiction the case number and investigators name, tell the dispatcher they need "standby assistance" to prevent a breech of the peace" and have them meet them.

I missed it Tracy. I was busy getting stuff together for my trip to Michigan. You remember several years ago I invited you to come up? Invitation is still open. Good news is that I recorded the race and I'll try and watch it tomorrow.

Do they show Emily? I don't care about seeing Peter. :rofl1:For anyone that doesn't know Tracy has a beautiful and intelligent daughter. Takes after her Mom. :D

:NoNo:
Sorry guys, but this is not the place for that sort of off topic discussion. Please stay focused and not get this thread derailed. There are plenty of other forums on this site where such discussions would be more appropriate.

RevXtreme 1 09-27-2010 07:36 AM

Sorry!

THUNDER 09-27-2010 10:13 AM

The investegator i spoke to was mike at the calhoon county sheriffs office. guess they are so small they do everything on first names lol.

vetteguy61 09-27-2010 01:53 PM

Well my trip to Blunstown was a waste of time. Chris sent me a text after I was already there saying he wouldn't be there. He is trying to raise money to pay everyone back.My reply was I don't think I'll live that long. No reply back to that.
Some good news about my motor. A tool was left on the flywheel to lock it in place. They removed the tool and my motor turns by hand now.
Bad news is they put holes in both my rocker panels where jack stands had been put. They also broke the right front sway bar link.Wonder what else I'll find screwed up as the rebuild continues.
