Tropical Storm Laura - 2020

SW Florida up the west coast and over to the panhandle should be keeping an eye on this one. The track has been inching further west each time I look at the forecast track, but this is still way far enough out that anything can happen.

The track will keep changing. I don't expect a thing from it.

Yeah, looks like you may be right. The tropical depression has been renamed to Tropical Storm Laura now, and the predicted track has moved even further west. Now pointed towards Mobile, AL.

Much more noticeable swing to the west, so I think unless the forecast track changes drastically back to an eastward direction, Florida is outside of the target area.

I think if any of you have any plans to be going to Louisiana this upcoming week, you may want to modify your plans a bit. Looks like both Laura and Marco are targeting Louisiana now. But, of course, that can change

BTW, tropical depression 14 became renamed to Tropical Storm Marco.

Fortunately with TS Laura forecast to be crossing the length of Cuba, that should weaken it quite a bit before it can build back strength in the Gulf of Mexico.

Still, on Monday and Wednesday, it looks like Louisiana is going to be having some rough weather.

Nothing for us here.

0.71" of rain here today (Saturday). Getting to feel a bit soggy.

Looks like Laura is going to be making landfall at the Louisiana/Texas border as a Cat 3 hurricane.

Almost made it to a 5.

Yeah, I guess Marco didn't churn up and cool down the water as much as they were expecting. Had Marco not let the way, Laura probably would have gotten well into the Cat 5 range. Still, bad enough as it is. I read last night that they were expecting a 20 ft storm surge to travel 40 miles inland. Ouch...
