Default Camaro by the numbers...and more...

Other production news has the Corvettes' little "brother", the Camaro, showing stellar sale numbers for 2010 with 129,405!!!! And for the first time since 1985, Camaro led US sales in the same class...just wait and see what the introduction of the convertible does for those numbers, for that number will surely soar!!

The Camaro is also the Pace Car for this the 2011 Indy 500. Not bad choosing a Chevrolet for 100th anniversary of the 500. Like the Corvette Pace Car of 2007 and 2008, Camaro will produce 50 Indy 500/Festival Committee cars...surely instant collectors'.

The colors? Try matching the '69 Pace car! Yep...the exterior of all Pace Cars will sport the exterior with Summit White with orange stripes and door graphics while the interior will be orange leather. The headrest will sport the Indy 500 logo and interior door panels will be white. Pace Car #1 sold at Barrett Jackson, Jan 22, 2011, for $225,000.

All 50 cars have the V8, 400 horsepower, 2SS package, and requires no modifications for performing its 500 duty. All 50 models will be SS convertibles. The convertible tops are built by the same manufacturer building Corvette convertible tops...having the same opening and closing "Z" pattern, same single handle latching, and about a 20 second operation.

I like!
