To the moronic reporter, BTW....Miami is just now catching up to Hillsborough County (Tampa) and some of the rest of the free world on this issue.
We've had this option for years. I had mine in the car back in the early 80's
L/E "leaders" don't have the foggiest idea what they're doing with this. You can't carry them with you on all calls, traffic stops and such as they'd be a hinderance and a tactical nightmare (unless they're going to go to an AK style weapon that could be "slung") and if you could, unless you have it at the ready, it's still pretty much useless for the types of assaults that have historically killed LEO's
Better training and protective gear will go much farther as will more manpower
Just more "assault weapon" hype
