:vette: February Corvettes Anonymous Cruise
This month, our Anonymous Cruise will take place on Saturday, February 16th. We will meet at the DuPont Registry ~ 3051 Tech Dr N. St Petersburg, FL 33716. That is located just South of Ulmerton Rd, off of 34th St. N.
Anyone who would like to join us will be more than welcome! The more we are, the bigger arty:
The Registry will be hosting Coffee N Cars from 7 – 9 AM, so join us anytime that morning for an opportunity to see their Classics & Exotics showroom + a boatload of really fine automobiles that you don’t see on the street everyday.
We will leave the Registry at 9 AM and cruise the back and coastal roads into downtown Saint Petersburg, ending at the Farmer’s Market on Central Ave.
This cruise is a bit special in that it is dedicated to one of our Corvettes Anonymous members; Linda Testa.
Linda will not be able to join us that day because she is at the Cleveland Clinic where she is being treated for a benign but troublesome tumor. She is expected to be there for the next 6 – 8 weeks and is expected to not only make a full recovery but be behind the wheel again very soon.
Our prayers and well wishes are certainly there for her!
If you would like to send Linda a card, her temporary address is:
Ms. Linda Testa In/Co
InterContental Suite Hotel
8800 Euclid Avenue
Cleveland, OH 44106

Hope to see you on the 16th.
Buy the way. Please print the attached instructions.
Also, if you would like to make a Virtual Cruise before the actual drive, go to http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl then drill down to where you can see the street names. Switch to Satellite then drag your cursor along the route.

Welcome To Corvettes Anonymous’
Cars-N-Coffee Cruise
Rev. 080129 @ 1645 hrs
Because of the residential nature of this cruise, we will be more likely than usual to get split up. We try to learn something with each outing so a couple of our Cruisers have made some wonderful suggestions that would not only work this time, but about anytime we go out.
A. If you have a 2-way radio, please set it to channel 5, sub 34.
B. Since about 5 cars is all that can be seen in the mirrors, let’s try to have a radio in each 5th car if possible.
C. Each 5th car should run with the headlights on. If you cannot see headlights in your mirrors, announce it on the radio and we will either slow down or try to pull over.
D. If the opportunity exists when we approach a light, pull in to multiple lines so we can all get through, then realign after we are through the light. Who ever is running the last position should announce that we are “All Clear” or “Negative Clear, X Cars Behind”
E. When we are ready to resume after pulling over for a photo op or to regroup, the last car should pull out first to block traffic.
F. This cruise will have photo ops as well as anticipated re-gathering areas. They will be indicated in the instructions.
G. If you do not have a radio and we are hopelessly split, my cell is 727-204-8308
Thanks
Tom
