Love bugs

Hey! You could always move to Massachusetts (or visit for awhile), cause there ain't
none of those little ^*%@%'s up here. :rofl1::rofl1::rofl1:
Andy :wavey:

I'm going to Stuart's Corvette Club show in Ft. Pierce at the end of this month, if they're not too bad - Thanks

With the mild Winter we had, I'm really surprised we haven't seen them around here in north Florida yet. Seems to me I recall seeing a few individuals flying around a couple of weeks ago. I know the lightning bugs are coming out now. And bamboo shoots I normally don't see till May have been coming up since the beginning of this month.

And, of course, regardless of the dry spell we've been having here, mosquitoes have bloomed.... :ack2:

Lovebugs seem to be kicking up around here a little bit. Connie said her boss at the seafood market she works at part time took a trip over to Fernadina Beach last week and came back just coated with dead lovebugs on the front of the truck.

I made my trip to Ft. Pierce for the car show (excellent show) last weekend -
one hit on the way over, and three coming back home (North Port).

Now they are flying into my garage to poop on my vette. Leave the garage door closed. I haste the little buggers.:banghead:

Luckily not many at all in West Palm Beach, but I visit my Son at UCF and plenty when I get north of Pt St Lucie!

Just drove to Jacksonville and back the last two weekends they were all over my truck. I had to wash it both times after driving back before they take off the paint.

I thought I read somewhere that the acid in the love bugs can start eating into the paint in about 2 hours after "impact". So what do you do if you are on a 4 hour (or longer) trip?

^^^Bring some detail spray/waterless wash and some microfiber and stop a few times to clean them off best you can. Or, tape off the leading edges of your car.

Yeah, I tend to wipe off the bugs from the front of the car whenever I stop, whether for gasoline, or a rest stop. I thought I was just being odd about it...
