St Armands?

We've got company coming this week and my youngest nephew (Stryker) is having his 1 year old birthday this Saturday. I think he's going to be bigger than me when he gets to be 16 or so and I'm 6'7". We got the tall genes for sure!! Anyway I will try to stop by and seee the beautiful Yellow, White, and Magnetic Red and others. As always, my best to all of you.
Hey Softtail, don't be late. :lmao:

:wavey: JUST A REMINDER, IF ANY OF YOU WISH TO CARAVAN WITH US !!!! :wavey:

Where can you park if you just want to come and gawk later????:shrug01:

You can park anywhere around the circle and at the various stores. Offstreet parking is available. Only the entrants park "on" the circle.
See Jim's photo elsewhere in this post.

Last year I drove down around 10:00 AM and had to park in one of the city back parking lots which had plenty of spaces. The street parking was gone.

I lucked out the year before. I got there about 11-12 o'clock and got a spot right on the circle next to the Posse:thumbsup:

Not gonna make this years:( Son's birthday so I'll be here.

You folks have a great time and be safe!:dancer01:

Been home and cooled down. Some nice cars at the show and weather didn't start getting hot until late. Since I was on the outside looking in I didn't take any pics, but forum photo guy Rob was there so I know some great shots will follow. I left right before the awards, but I'm sure the largest club will garner the most as usual. Joe switched to flower drinks :lmao::lmao:
Good seeing the other forum members again...

Great weather

I'm with C5Rick, great weather, great people and I even garnered a gift certificate for Red Lobster but if you wanted to win a trophy, you needed to be wearing a yellow shirt! :banghead: That's the problem with "People's Choice". If it wasn't for the venue and Cha Cha Coconuts I would not attend. There's got to be a better way? :shrug01:

Tamra and I had a great time visiting with friends and a great lunch at Tommy Bahamas. It's always a joy to see all the generations of the Corvette and the generations of folks who love and appreciate them. What an awesome world this would be if we could carry that same altruistic concept into the rest of our society!!
Peace to all. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I had a yellow shirt on and a yellow Vette and did not win.

Best in Show did not have a yellow shirt on.

I see no problem with "People's Choice" as my Vette is a daily driver with 76K miles.

My point exactly. Our '03 has over 65/k and has never come close in a "Peoples Choice" but in a judged show I have always taken home a trophy. So why go? As I said, only the venue saves this show for me.

With the exception of lack of rest rooms, being gouged by a local eaterie (Ristorante Italy - open air with yellow awning on one of side streets) $23.01 for 2-7" personal pizzas and large cokes (tasted horrible BTW) before we could use their restroom facilities (which the Health Dept. would love to see - anyone from HD reading?) we manageed to have a good time...As to whether we return next year, that remains to be seen...

FYI - Despite one Skyway member teling me that no Porta Potties were allowed, I later found out from another event coordinator planning his event that City does allow them...

And to add insult to injury, the local LEO's were issuing parking tickets...

And as for People's Choice, what can you say that has'nt been said already...

The thing I like most about this particular show (and the thing I missed the most this year) is the comaraderie and the shops/restaurants:thumbsup:

The area has several really great eateries to choose from, a little something for everyone from open air bar seating to upsacle dining.

As far as "showing" goes, since I dn't have anything worth showing, I just go for the above reasons. Other than a few particular shows each year, I generally reserve my "official" registeration for shows to those that benefit others, be it children, veterans, cancer treatment, etal.

"Peoples choice" voting is easily skewed by sheer numbers. "Judging" on the other hand is most of the time too critical and/or too anal for my taste:lmao:

Again, until someone opens a "Rat Rod" category, I "ain't got a snowballs chance in hell anyway!:lmao:"

Just go, ahve fun, meet others and try not to take it too personally...there's always the next show:thumbsup:

Glad everyone had a good time.

Hope to see some of you on Wednesday:dancer01:

hey pres712,i was right behind you,on the hill.blue shirts were just as bad as yellow ones.two big clubs, you can never win.I WILL TAKE A JUDGED show anyday. my point is it allways was ,no hood open you do not want to be judged. that has all changed.,and the more chrome the better. but just me venting, other than that great show.:dancer01:
