I also have the MGW shifter.. I have had it for at least a couple years. Shifting is precise if you make sure and pay attention. Going in to reverse is a bit difficult, and from 4th to 5th can be a bit tricky. I have found myself going back into 3rd on occasion
...but it is much better than the stock shifter....
