Default C6R at 1/32

I'm leaving a hobby that I think most of you touched at one time or another. Slot Cars. I have a homemade track and of course a couple of Vettes to run on it.

Still have some of my slot cars and parts. Always had fun with them.

How big is that track?

The track is 14'X8' and a lap is about 60'. It's routed out of MDF. The cars I ran wer 1/32 scale, gret detail on them. Due to circumstances I have to get rid of it so it may be heading north. A lot of fun and I'll miss it. Sorry the cars below aren't Vettes.

Rick, I've been reading about Slot Car Drag Racing lately, and it seems like a ****load of fun, and a good way to blow a few hours.

Would you care to teach me about these little electric buggers? I have nary a clue about them, except how they get power from the track.

But now I've been reading about motor classes and different armatures, and ring and pinion gears, and I got a headache lol

I was more into the road racing. There are sanctioned races and it is big in Europe. You can change tires, different compounds, for different surfaces. This actually makes a big difference. The gearing is also a key factor. There's a wide range of ratio's available along with materials the gears are made from. The motors come in a wide array and usually based on RPM 's though the most isn't always the best. The motor position can be key, straight side or angle. I ran 1/32 scale and I believe most drag cars are 1/24 scale.
