Well the only thing that I can conclude is that being a Gator magnet it us SUPER strong and it's field is reaching the frame

Can you say double stick tape?

double stick tape came to my mind as well, but i cannot comprehend such an act of deception taking place .... i believe your first guess is more logical.

the funny thing is that i was wondering how a magnet would look on my car and then i went to find out and there it was. even the same color.....

The rear facia is definitely not metal. Must be one helluva magnet. Nothing against the 'gators but, I would not be inclined to put ANY stickers on my 'vette. But that's just me.

It likely is similar to that 3M plastic film people use to coat their rocker and quarter panels. The film sticks "electrostatically".

Very possible. I guess that would be a form of magnetism.

Longhorn fans (Hook'em Horns) , but like Mark, I will not place a decal, sticker, or emblem on My Vette ! I do however have the plate frame .
