1966 Starter Motor
Hello all-
I am in need of replacing my starter. I would like to have it rebuilt instead of trying to get a matching number piece. Might anyone know of someone reliable in the Daytona to St. Augustine vicinity?
Thanks, guys.

Don't know anyone that does that, but you might want to consider buying a rebuilt
just to get you through the time it takes to find a rebuilder and have yours done.
That way you would still be able to drive yours while the original is brought back
to "as new" condition. Afterwards, you could keep the purchased one as a spare,
or sell it and recover some of your money.

You might want to contact John Pirkle at Masters City Corvette. John is a well known supplier of restored electrical components for Corvettes. All of John's items are normally restored to comply with NCRS judging. I am pretty sure that John will take your starter and rebuild it for you, if that's what you want. I think he is located in Augusta, Ga. Here is his link.

I hope this helps!

You are right, John Pirkle Sr. just passed away. But I BELIEVE that his son John Jr, and other members of his family continue to run the family business, Master City Classic Car Parts. They typically stock thousands of correct, not restamped, Corvette starters.
