That appears to hold true today. I'm sure that there are much better qualified people in the United States than the lousy selection we had to choose from the last few go rounds. Any takers?

Shoot, almost any business person, given the leeway and not fettered by congress (that ain't gonna happen BTW), could do a better job with the economy than most any politician! Politicians are generally the "elite", spoon fed types that have never really had to earn a living for much longer than maybe a military enlistment and a college job.
As for Perot, Amen!
Although the little rat on acid's attitude and radical thoughts would probably have gotten us into a nuke war before his term was over, he did have some great ideas on the economy and how to bring the country out of the funk it was in.
Since he didn't "need" the money, I assume it was the "power" he wanted.
I voted for him, but wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it again.
In his heyday, I'd have loved to see Jesse Ventura as a candidate. A man that knows and speaks his mind (when he's not out of it) and doesn't really care whose feeling it hurts.
Again, the congess is always going to be a problem. That and partisan politics!
