The windshield is different on HUD cars (unless GM specs them all that way now, as probably 75%+ are 3LT) but a lot of guys on CF have installed HUDs after the fact on C5s w/normal windshields and not had problems, There are occasional complaints of double-images, but that's a problem on the regular ones too.

If it was me I'd get the 3LT in a heartbeat, but it's always easy spending someone else's money. Best of luck with the new ride!

Great color choice, btw.

Yeah, I ran the options past Connie, and there were a few things she thought she might like. But it would have tacked at least $4500 onto the price of the car, and nothing in the option list was worth that to her. Me neither, actually. HUD is nice, but lived a long time without it in my vehicles. Power passenger seat would be nice, but again, not worth paying for all that other fluff.

One of the salesmen I talked to tried to talk me into the 3LT package saying it would increase it's resale value. Well we're not buying this car for the NEXT owner. And from what I can see in used C6 prices, none of the higher dollar vettes are moving very well at all. So I doubt it will have much effect at all when it comes time to sell or trade in the car. Maybe three years down the road it could wind up getting traded in for a new Z06... Guess I'll have to get Connie behind the wheel of my car so she can brush up on driving a stick shift....

Good deal Rich, it's amazing to think that you are gonna get a brand new Vette for that price. Best of luck with the car.

I posted these pics elsewhere, but figured that they would be appropriate in this thread as well....
