The most common problem in the 05 which would be out of warranty by now, is the rear differentials exploding even at stock power lvls. I couldnt count the amount of threads Ive read on the C6 tech section of people with bone stock 05s, blowing their differentials from launching it at a light. Sad part is some of those people maybe tracked their car once. Thats why I paid a little extra and skipped some years to when they got stuff right.

Plus a basic 4L60E tranny isnt exactly the best thing to work with if you plan to make anymore power. Theyre awesome when you get them built, but I think the max torque load you can have on those was 400ish give or take. The 6L80E used in the A6 cars is safe up to 550 max torque loads.
