Some times you can back flush them,Back flushing now days is almost non-existent!!Most radiators have plastic tanks and thin reeds and won't take the pressure if you use a old time radiator flush gun!!
You might try to remove the upper and lower hoses and run water through the radiator back wards with a water hose and flush it out that way!I had success on a 99 a while back that way!
It was over heating after a 15-20 mile run cruising at about 85,the guy hasn't had any trouble with it since!!
PS I made me a Adapter out of a couple old radiator hoses and some clamps for the water hose!
