Florida wildfires

Looks like most of the state is being affected by the fires all across the state. If anyone is interested, here is a website that appears to keep up on the latest developments:

Yes, it's getting bad down there. I went to Orlando wednesday and to Tampa friday. It was getting pretty thick at times. I feel for the people who live there.

I'm heading down in a few hours. Looks like my route is fairly clear except for the areas around Jax...Maybe I can bring some rain with me( I was born in Ohio)

Wife, daugher and granddaughter are at Disney this entire week.

Looks like the state is getting some much needed rain today!
I did my part and washed the Vette and truck yesterday to ensure we get some wet stuff!

We got only a brief shower on Saturday, but that was it. Just enough to raise the humidity to 110 percent. Some of the plants are looking pretty rough. But at least no fires close by.

One year we had smouldering bits of palmettos and other plants coming out of the sky from a REAL CLOSE fire. That's the main reason I had a sheet metal roof put on the house and buildings. Many house fires will result from burning embers from a nearby fire landing on the roof and igniting the asphalt or wood shingles. I knew there was always this risk when living in the middle of the woods.

I just got in with the wipers running in Englewood...I knew the Ohio dark cloud syndrome was good for something..
