Default Snap! I gots da NAIL!

I picked up a nail in the tread of my front tire. I assume this should be fixable. Does anyone know a good place to take it in the Naples area? Also, do you think it's a good idea to just take that wheel in and not drive the car there. I'm picky as to who puts my car on a lift.

I took it to Goodyear and they said it could not be fixed because the nail was too close to the side. So, now I'm looking for replacement front tires. Let me know if you have some useed ones you want to sell. P245 45 ZR17

I've had nails in 2 tires on my Z but both were more towards the middle of the tread and were easy to patch. The local GY store did it. Replacement tires in your size should be easy to find. Good luck.

Hey Rich,

I have the same issue right now with my Z16. It is currently sitting on a jack stand in the garage until I can hobble around a little better and either get it fixed or replaced.

I too am looking for someone in the area that will understand my pickiness and has a soft touch tire machine. They only made the polished Z06 wheels for the Z16s so there are only a couple thousand of them and I don't want some hack throwing the wheel around like it came off a Camry.

Good luck in your search and when you get a chance we can talk about replacement tires for your vert. I took the runcraps off of our '01 vert and put on Goodyear GS D3s. Much better traction, dry and wet, and much better ride. Since there is no spare I just put a hand compressor in the trunk similar to what comes with the Z06s from the factory.

Rich

Hi Rich

I was reading your old post about the GS D3s and like them but I've been worried about going non runflat and now that I got this nail it doesn't help calm my fears. The last time I called AAA they told me it was a 4 hour wait.

Let me know if I can help you get that tire fixed. I can come up with my Camry and take it in if you find a place to take it.

Hope you're feeling better.

I bet you could just plug that and be good to go. It doesnt look that close to the sidewall to be an issue. . . The shops wanting you to drop the money on new tires. . .

A plug should be just fine like Dick said...Just keep it in mind when you are thinking of going warp speed in your beast...
