Looking for advice on spring and suspension

Hi to all!! My 2000 C5 rides like a boat!! Had four wheel alignment and still does not feel right. I was told that it might be the front and rear composite springs. I have over 120,000 miles on the car. Put on new Z06 shock about three years ago and they appear okay when I push down on the car. Does anyone know if 2013 Z06 springs fit on a C5. I found these part #s on line.
Front 25992251, Rear 15233392. Also would be open to any other options for aftermarket springs but the 2013 springs are priced around $288 for rear and $306 for front at GMparts house which is reasonable and cheaper then C5 Z06 springs, Thanks, Phil

Have you tried stiffer sway bars?

Maybe have your ball joints checked, too.

I have a 2000 c5 and it doesn't feel like a boat. I still have the original springs and bilstein Shocks. Do you have the alignment sheet still? I would like to know all the after results just to make sure it was aligned properly.

There are quite a few things that someone can do to stiffen up the suspension. Adjustable shocks, beefier sway bar, stiffer tunnel plate, firmer motor mounts, transmission and differential braces, etc. Replacing all those old rubber suspension grommets with polyurethane replacements will help too.

It's probably worn bushings. I have issues with my CTS V "wandering" on roads with ruts. Alignment is good, no tire wear, steering wheel is straight. I've got over 150K miles on it now. Motor mounts are shot(again). First ones were replaced under warranty. It uses those factory hydraulic ones. I'm going with polyurethane this time.

Thanks for all you ideas. It turns out the alignment was way out and front tires were bad. Had the alignment redone and got a print out this time to prove it was set right. Also bought a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS 2 tires. Now it sticks to the road. I don't think the shop did the full alignment the first time I went in and I did not ask for a printout of the final settings. A friend with a repair shop told me that most shops do what they call " toe in and out". They don't do the full alignment like they should. The tech at the alignment shop accused my mechanic of tampering with the suspension between alignments. I told him I am the one who put the car on the lift and no one else has touched the car. Next time I will ask for a print out. Thanks

Probably a REAL good idea to not trust anyone working on your car. It's OK to be cautiously optimistic, but where at all possible verify that they actually did what you paid them to do.
