I've broken enough solid crap over the years to build a freakin' garage! And frankly, looking back on it, I can't see a reason for it?
I know all the "reasons" given, but I've never met a board or brick that I didn't like
Raschelle, you've got a point. My elbows, but mostly my knees, hate me for the time I spent destroying them in training and tournements.
I now combine Kenpo with some of the "softer" arts (Aikido/Hapkido and such) to teach self defense (and use as required). Works really well and not "as much" chance of screwing yourself up long or short term
Yeah, every now and then somebody get's hurt, but it's pretty well controlled now to the point it hardly ever occurs.
