Heck if I know.
Guess it wouldn't be the first time that a site failed because of lack of participation. I just recently sold off my ArmsLocker.com website because participation dropped down below 10 registered members visiting per day. Wasn't worth keeping the site taking up server space any longer, and I fortunately had someone make me a reasonable offer for it.
I will be shutting down my CorvetteInternational site soon as well, for that same reason. Except for the RSS feeds I've set up there, there is NO traffic at all to the site. Wound up just being a big waste of my time setting it up. Breaks of the game, I guess.
I've retired my reptile breeding business and can't waste resources on things that are not worthwhile to me. Running a site with no participation is just not worthwhile to me. And actually this site is about the only one running on my other server, so in effect I am paying out of pocket leasing an entire server just for this site. That's $244 per month that I think I am being quite foolish spending while retired.
This site is in no danger of being shut down quite yet, but certainly other arrangements have to be made for hosting it other than leasing an entire server. However, if daily participation (and especially posting) drops way down from the current pitiful levels, well yes, there would be no reason for me to keep it around any longer.
Heck, I used to have a small number of people chipping in with paid memberships to help out financially, which has pretty much dried up completely. Oh well, times are tough, I know, but a point will be reached whereby I have to consider my own budget concerns with something like this site. I just happen to enjoy doing this sort of thing, but have to be realistic.
It's really up to you guys as to whether you want this site to survive. I can and will only do so much myself before I give up like many members here apparently have done.
