AW.....MAN.......WHAT IS THIS.......????
Here I sit 25 miles south of Boston, while my car is 1125 miles south of Boston,
I haven't seen it since MARCH for chrissakes, I'm taking anti-depressants the size of BASEBALLS,
and you stick
THIS right in my face?
When Dotty and I make plans to have a
"family reunion" with, and get a little "bonding time" with, the Vette, we try to make it for
the 3rd weekend of the month JUST so I can make it to Cars and Coffee. If you've never
been there, it's worth the drive just to see all of the great cars that make it there. The first
one I went to I parked the Vette W-A-Y away from the other cars, because I had just arrived
the night before and the Vette was REALLY DIRTY
! As I was walking toward
the cars parked at Cars and Coffee someone walked over to me and said "is that your Vette?"
I answered that it was and he said why don't you bring it over with all of the other cars. I told
him that it was filthy as I had just gotten there last night and didn't have time to clean it
yet, and his reply to that was something I will never forget. He said "we're NOT about clean
here, we're all about the cars, talking about them, and driving them." Made me feel welcome
and right at home. So if you're looking for something to do on Saturday morning, and want
to see a great bunch of cars and owners, make it on over to Cars and Coffee. It's only
for 2 hours - from 7AM to 9AM - and you'll have the rest of the day to spend working on your car,
your house, or doing whatever you choose. Hey Jim, I'll see you there in October, and hope
that y'all can make it to St. Augustine even if you have to call in sick
!
