Default headers

In my opinion I would not buy headers for the C6 Z06, I would get a run tune,160 degree thermostat, cold air intake, hurst shifter and a 4:10 gear. By the way do not forget auto paint gaurd.

Do the headers void the GM warranty? I would think any engine problems might be dicey getting warranty coverage with the headers installed. Yeah, some people won't care and others will. Those that WILL should be aware of that possibility.

I'm not sure this is a problem. The local Chevrolet dealer does offer headers, exhaust, etc.

Default Hmmmm.....

I wish Chris was here to comment on this.
He has put Melrose headers on before and is very familiar with them.
Not sure what year vette he has put them on though.

Myabe he can let you know what he thinks when he gets home tonight, and or at least tell you the difference in Melrose and others in his opinion from installing them.

If they state it will not affect the drivetrain warranty, I would CERTAINLY get that in writing.....

Default My humble opinion

As a Corvette performance shop owner, I have installed every make and brand of headers for Corvettes. ALL have their good and bad points.

As a dealer for stainless works, American racing, Melrose ect ect you will NOT find a better fitting header than a Melrose header !!
As far as HP they all seem to be within 5 HP of each other.
However the LG's have more low to mid range torque by 10-15 ft lbs of torque.
The ceramic coating on the Melrose headers do cut down on heat soaking because the ceramic coating does lower engine compartment temp by 20-25 degrees.

I have attached photos of the Melrose Z06 headers installed on a C6 and before and after dyno sheet on the new LS3 with simple bolt on mods headers, hi-flo cats, x pipe and tune.

Corvette Fever is coming to our shop to do an article this exact set up next weekend.

One of our LS3 cars with Callaway honker induction , Melrose long tubes, random technology hi-flo cats and x pipe with stock cat back system is close to breaking the 11 second bracket. It ran a 12.03 in the 1/4 mile at 126 mph.
This was 1/2 sec quicker than a bone stock '08 with an LS3.

Any questions call or email me.
