Default A different approach to the C3

This is not for everyone, but it's "different."

The car looks like ****e in the first few frames, gets better as the thread moves along.

Just found it interesting.

That's pretty radical. The sound of the Cummins Diesel just doesn't go with the Corvette body though, it's like, what's wrong with this picture! I'll bet it's fun to drive!

Honestly, it just amazes my how diesel engines are apparently exempt from environmental laws. Look at the smoke cloud that sucker generates! Personally I just can't stand the smell and hate to even drive near a diesel powered vehicle. It would be a cold day in hell indeed before I would ever own one myself.

Gotta agree with Rich. It's an interesting project but not for me, especially in a 'vette. I've never been a big fan of diesels.

I can appreciate what it took to make the swap but WTF was he thinking? That is hideous! Half of what makes a Vette (or any other hot rod for that matter) appealing is the engine sound. The whumpa whumpa whumpa of a cammed engine is sweeeet and now his sounds like a garbage truck! Plus 99% of the world would not know that is a diesel and would wonder why that Vette is spewing out all that black smoke on his ride home. Most people would laugh thinking he blew a gasket in the engine or something like that.

To each their own I guess.....

Now that's unique and I sorta' like it in an odd way Reminds me of a few F-250's we have around here.

BTW Rich, they're not exempt. They have thier own laws to abide by and they get more and more stringent as the years go by.

There's probably more chit on a diesel in the way of environmental BS than you have on a gasser

Take a look around at the newer diesels. Very few that are not tampered with, spew the dreaded "black smoke" any more. The ones you see are usually modified.

As with any car, when you mod the emissions systems you get more HP and/or torque.

No different than anything else.

I agree. I saw it and went WTF????

As I mentioned in the intro, the vette looks beaten. Certainly not a pristine example of a vette.

As for the "sound" though, I have to differ with you.

Did you happen to catch that TURBO spooling up?

a maggie, an ATI or a a turbo....all are music to a performance enthusiasts ears

That old school thump thump is cool, but usually not as efficient or productive as a power added ride
