Default black outs

normally i dont like black outs, but ive got a white c5 that would like very slick with black outs. however not sure of the legality of them. from my basic understanding you can have them, but if someone rear ends you, its automatically your fault. which in fl no fault shouldnt really matter. howerver what does insurance say about that?

I'm not aware of black out (especially if they're just on the rear) being
a legal issue. They light up just fine when the breaks are applied, and when your lights are on! Atleast the ones I have do...

The 2nd pic is with blackouts also. I was kneeling behind the car when I shot the photo.

Default Putting them on...

Tried as I did, I couldn't put'em on with my hands. I ended up dropping on on the ground, having to pick out the sand/leaves.
I then grabbed a suction cup, the kind you might find on the back of a bathtub pillow or a window mounted radar detector. They were a piece of cake to install using this method!
Stick the suction cup to the center of the blackout, placing it (blackout) into the desired position, then pressing it (blackout) into place. BaddaBing!
(Do note.. that the blackouts have a cut out for the top screw holding the taillights on, so there's only one way to position them into place...at least on a C6)
GS.Creations is where I got mine from for $99.00 I do believe.

i found some cheap static cling ones on mid america that look like there pretty easy to use, and easy to take off if you dont like them. however i guess not sure how easily they just fly off either. also ive seen a spray paint version. i would just want to make sure that it could be taken off.

I've been looking at the static cling style headlight cover protectors for the C6, but have my doubts they will stay on at high speeds. The angle of the wind hitting them would merely need to catch one little tiny piece of that leading edge to have the wind just peel it back. Or is that really not the case at all? I just get tired of buying stuff that isn't worth the box it came in......

Another (and cheaper) alternative: www.rpidesigns.com Just ordered the whole kit for around $80 incl shpg. I guess we'll see if they stay attached.

Years ago a young man in Lakeland put black panty hose over his CRX lenses. He was rearended by a lady and my Trooper gave her a citation for the collision. She lost the fight against the ticket in court and was guilty of the careless driving.

Fast forward to civil court, he lost this time around since he placed an object on his car that was not in compliance with FL law and the jury felt that it contributed to the crash. $100,000.00 lesson for this kid . . .
