I overheard some radio traffic today, a Deputy responded to lady who got bit by a pygmy rattler on her index finger. She went to the hospital by ambulance.
As a Deputy, we used to get those calls (and gators!) all the time. I hated them! Kept wanting to ask them, do I look like a damned Fish & Game officer to you lady!?
Once had a lady ask me to shoot a moccasin that was sunning itself on the lower ledge of her LARGE bay window.
Lady=Can't you shoot it?
Me= Yes ma'am...but whose going to replace your window?
Just FYI, we dont actually have antivenom here so dont get bit
We were dumb kids my big brothers and I use to throw rocks at them and gators and run, Or see who could out swim the moccasins. Boy you would get bored as a kid in rual florida
