So shell gas is suposed to be the best now? a few years ago my friends car got messed up from the shell gas, it had dirt n it or sumthin, dont remember really, but i remember it was shell gas that messed it up... what stations do u guys think is the best?

I tend to use Chevron gasoline. But I would use Shell in a pinch as well as Sunoco. Also used Amoco or BP every now and again. I avoid the no-name bulk gas places, however.

JAT...It may have just been THAT Particular Shell gas station that had bad fuel, or crap in their tank(s).

Yeah, that can certainly happen. If the station has been in business a long time and the level gets REAL low in the tanks, the pumps can be sucking in years of sludge that accumulate on the bottom of the tanks. NOT good.

I doubt any gas stations periodically clean out those storage tanks. Unfortunately, there is really no way to know when you pull up to the pump.....

I have read that the Techron additive really works, not only from here, but from a few off sites as well. I use it about every other month.
