Speaking of horns......
Man, but the horn on my Z sure sounds wimpy! I hate to even use it. Just makes this feeble little squeek. Is there something wrong with mine or is that just the way it is?

Mine sounds a helluva lot better than my Camaro SS did. I hardly ever used that one. Matter of fact, I turned the horn off when locking my doors. The Z sounds so much better.
I agree with Tom. That guy that sold you the car sucks.

Yeah, he hooked me good. Connie said that when I first saw the Z, she knew I was going to be driving it home by the glitter in my eyes. Not only was I clueless about what a Z06 should be like, I had a bad case of tunnel vision as well. It probably could have been without a trunk lid and I might not have noticed. I was a used car salesman relocated from New York's dream customer, I guess.
So the horn really should have some balls to it, eh? Maybe it is something simply like a wire just being off of one of the horns. Most vehicles have a high and low horn, and mine sounds like it only has the high one working.
Actually I could have used it Friday. On the way to Micanopy, there was some truck hauling bales of hay in front of me. Another small truck was between myself and that larger hauler. When finally a clear shot opened up to go around the hauler, I waited a few seconds to see what the smaller truck was going to do. He didn't budge, so I put on my left turn signal then moved into the oncoming traffic lane and punched it. THEN the sob starts coming over on me. Luckily I was moving pretty good at that time and was past him before he could cream me. I don't believe he even looked. Anyone who says that kind of power is not needed on the road just had their argument negated as far as I am concerned. With a slower vehicle, I would have been in the ditch with the passenger side body panels busted from contact with that truck. Probably in prison as well later on if I could catch up with him. Then not 5 minutes later, someone pulls out in front of us driving a huge motorhome. Honest, the horn does no justice at all to the thoughts going through my head at times like that. I need something that can shatter glass and ear drums.
So yeah, I need to check into this. Haven't really looked to see where the horns are, so I guess I need to poke around and look.

Rich, if I remember tomorrow, I'll take my digital camera out and get a quick little video/audio of the horn.

Well I looked through the maintenance manuals and found the location of the horn. It's underneath, mounted to the skid bars. So scratch that idea of taking a look at it myself. Guess next time I take it in for service I'll have the dealer take a look at it while it is up on the rack.
