Default opening turn signal housing

i would like to open, clean, and fix my turn signal housing. has anyone opened them up with any success? or seen something written up on the matter? thanks

Depending on the type and strength of the sealant GM used at the factory; you can heat up the part in an oven say 200*F for 3-5 mins should make the sealant soft enough to pull the lens from the housing. Checking often you dont want to burn the plastics, just warm the "glue".

This method worked for me back when I used to do retro-fitting projectors into headlight housings on Lincoln LS's, till Ford used better sealant on the later models.

makes sence. i was thinking about using a heat gun, but over should work. what kind of glue did you use to close them back up? thanks

I used a really good clear silicone sealant. just something i got from lowes i believe nothing special just make sure it is completely sealed you dont want it to fog up.
