RESTAURANT REVIEWS
Best places to eat in your area, on the road or in general?
Service, food quality, ambiance, price?
Going to sticky this for a while and see how well it's received. If it goes over well, a new section much the same as the movie review section, may be added to the site
Have at it

The Torreya Grill on Appalachee Parkway, in Tallahassee. Owned by the Koikos Brothers, who have extensive experience with such former landmark restaurants such as The Brothers Three, and The Spartan. Greek dining at it's finest, try the Crabcakes, or the Stuffed Flounder! Or you can get the Parmesian Crusted Beef Tenderloin, all in the low to mid twenties. A wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, great food.....give them a try, you'll love it! The local food critic gives them four stars...I give them five!

The wife and I were on Ft. Meyers Beach last week and hungary for a steak. We went to a well known beach place only to find it old, not well maintained and $40.00 a steak ala carte.
Ended up at Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse
12635 S Cleveland Ave
Fort Myers, FL 33907
Great meal (Prime Rib), excellent service and surroundings and with the tip less that $50.00.

If you are ever on US 27 going thru Sebring, there is the Sebring Diner (4040 US Hwy 27 South) on south end of town. Great home style cooked food for reasonable price and great service...

In Naples: Bonefish Grill, US41 and Davis Blvd. Fantastic!
Little Italy: US41 and Industrial Ave. Superb Italian food...Grandma is still in the kitchen hand cutting and battering the Calamari! Fantastic!
Lunch spot: Bayshore Coffee House: Bayshore Avenue just off of US41. Great coffee and sandwiches. Great atmosphere.
The Dock @ Crayton Cove: 845 12th ave south on Naples Bay. Great atmosphere, great bar, even better sea food!
There are a ton more, but this should get ya started!
Oh yeah, in Ft Myers, Leroy Selmon's: good BBQ and American Food. Across from the Bell Tower Shops on Daniels.

For local color try Racings North Turn in Ponce Inlet. It is where the north turn of the Daytona race was back when they raced on the beach.

BigUns
Hi guys. I live in Tallahassee, northeast area. If you head north up Thomasville Rd. towards Thomasville GA.from here, you may remember that just as you cross the border, on the right past the gas station, there was a place called JB's. They were family run/owned, and had excellent barbeque, ribs, pulled pork and the like. Unfortunately, a few months ago, they went out of business. The place has now been taken over by two new guys, called "BigUns." I've eaten there about three times. I'm a big lover of ribeye steak, and I must say, BigUns grills an excellent ribeye. You can get an eight, twelve, or sixteen ounce cut. Juicy and delicious, competitive with any of the top steakhouses I've been to, IMHO(eg. Chops, in Atlanta, or Ruth's Chris, Ted's, The Captain's Table in Mobile, AL.). They have a fantastic salad bar, lots of fresh produce to choose from and toppings, service is great, very friendly folks, and a huge selection of ribs, barbeque, and even fried clam strips. It's a very down home atmosphere, nothing fancy, but then again, I'm not there for the ambiance, I'm there for the food! A must-try for anyone living in Tallahassee or the surrounding area. PS: price is very reasonable too.
