Race Day - Indy 500/Coke 600

Big day for racing fans! The wife and I attended the NCCC convention in Indianapolis a few years ago and we were able to take the '01 Vert out on the track. With the top down I held my camera in my right hand, resting on the top windshield frame and took pictures as we went around the track. Not easy with a 6 speed! Anyway, for the people that are interested and have never been to the track, I posted a few of the pictures at various points on the track. The are posted in the miscellaneous section of our Photo Gallery.

This was my first trip into our Photo Gallery, so I hope I did everything right!

It was a neat trip around that track. I was amazed at how closed in the front straight appears. It gave me the illusion of it narrowing as you got towards turn 1.

It gave you that illusion in a street car, imagine these guy's and gal's doing that a 220+ mph. I was not at the drags, I was watching it all on TV. Just like right now. I race this coming Saturday night. I have had a month off and i'm looking forward to hitting the 1/4 mile again.

That was my thought exactly when I came down the front straight.
