Guess I had better be cranking up those other mosquito magnets. With all this standing water, mosquitos are going to blossom....

It rained in my area two days last week. Both times while I was working. It rained so hard that I couldn't hear the radio as I was driving... but it only lasted like 15 minutes. Which is a good thing cause the boss get's pissed if you don't respod to his radio calls.

But uh... feel free to send that rain down here guys...

Seems every spring is dry in my part of FL. Last year the first weekend of April we had 5" of rain. We had a total of 8.5" of Rain for March and April last year, this year we have had 3" since March. So last spring was kinda wet compared to the last 25 years.

I never tied hurricanes with a wet spring since storms never seem to effect my part of FL. Only in 04 we had two state crossing storms with winds about 70mph and in Sept of 85 we had winds about 55mph.

Seems south FL or the pandhandle that gets all the action with storms.

The best news I heard was an El Nino wil play into it at the peak of hurricane seasons. El Nino's tend to break up the storms.

It seems that El Nino is making a serious statement in our weather. I know they just lowered the projections of storms again this week. Look out for La Nina next year.

I've actually been through the eye of one hurricane. 1985 Hurricane Gladys' eye passes right over Oakdale, Long Island. We were without power and school for that matter for about 10 days.

Looks like we now have two tropical systems on the radar. Ana and Bill.

Stay tuned.....

Yeah, I saw that counter-clockwise swirl last night and wondered what this would become. Fortunately it's pretty close to us, so that should prevent much in the way of strengthening. They are saying some areas could see up to 10 inches of rainfall though. Rich, you better take your C5 to Extreme while you can still get out of the driveway!

I'm sure glad Ana is going to be a tropical storm, it looks like it is coming to Key West. Bill is supposed to turn to the North and miss Florida.
