Default Do NOT touch!

Found this critter on one of our apple trees yesterday.

Can it be any plainer that this thing is saying "DO NOT TOUCH!"

Interesting looking critter. I didn't realize apple trees grew in Florida. I thought they only grew in colder climates.

Starke Nurseries sells some varieties of apple trees that are supposed to be compatible with warmer climates. So heck, I'm giving them a whirl. They also have some of the "bing" large sweet cherry trees too that I am trying out.

Also put in a bunch of the Asian pear trees too.

Heck, if you are going to plant trees, might as well put in ones that will produce something you can eat off them.

I used to have two apple trees in Tampa. They were a tart apple.

Here's what we got from Starke -> http://www.starkbros.com/products/fr...388A616264B2FB

We're zone 8B, so they are supposed to do OK here.

If you are interested in large cherries, this might be the ticket for you -> http://www.starkbros.com/products/fr...e-sweet-cherry

This tree is rated for zone 5 thru 9.
