In my early days with my '66 GTO Sunoco 260 is all I would use in it. Now that was some GOOOOD stuff.

For the '69 big block, I primarily use Sunoco and if that is not available, then Amoco. Our '01 seems to be a little less picky on brands and runs well on most premium fuels. But I try to stay with a major supplier where ever possible.

I'll try to find the story again and post a link.
Hugo Chavez is elected. And the country of Venezuela does own Citgo. They have since the mid '90's. I'll include a link to Snopes about him. Recently, there were two emails floating around about Citgo. If you don't like Bush then buy at Citgo, if you do, then don't buy at Citgo.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/citgo.asp

Chavez has close ties with Cuba and Bush hates that. Chavez recently said he would sell his American jets (I think F-16's) to Iran because the US would not supply them with upgrades. He's even tried to buy planes from other countries. If they had any US parts in them, Bush blocked the deal. He's said he'll just buy new ones from China or Russia.

He will also be providing discounted heating oil to London's poor this year. I believe he also gave away heating oil to some poor in the US last year.

I am just passing along a little info. I don't wish to engage in any political debates with anyone. I'm sure there are bad stories as well, these are just the ones that stood out to me recently.

Sorry to drift from your question. I usually stick with Chevron. The techron helps. There is a Shell by me that sells discounted 93 octane on Wednesdays I believe.

I was very big on Amoco, but had fuel gauge issues. Swapped to Chevron 2 years ago and no more problems.

Anywhere, at least in Palm Beach County, you go you will find that Shell (which I use) is always the most expensive gas. In addition a lot of Shell stations show a differential of $.26 to $.28 between the regular and the premium.

Heck, I dunno, but after seeing the latest prices, those rice-mobiles that run on two rabid chipmunks in a squirrel cage are looking better and better to me...

We have a trip planned to Maryland next month and I hate to think what the price tag is going to be on just getting there and back.
