Eckler's has a kit so you don't have to take off the intake every time. It is not in their catalog yet; look online.
Or just take a chance and replace the sending unit. Takes about 2 hours. There is a small vacuum line in the rear that is so small you might miss re-installing it.
I went and got an aftermarket one for my car and havent had any problems with it. The problems people mostly run into with the install is inproper torque of the sensor which can cause it to go bad not to far down the road. Good Luck. Jay

My C5 has exhibited the same problem, guage pegged, pressure at 130psi. I would expect to see the engine puking oil from everywhere, not a drop.
So excatly where is the oil sending unit located on the 5.7?
If memory serves me correctly, the oil sending unit on a C5 is UNDER the intake manifold. Like Pres712 said, I'd look into the oil sending relocation kit. I think THIS is the kit his talking about, but I'm not familiar with it.

+1 its by the back part of the intake manifold on the block. Jay
