Default Adding Air Conditioning

Hi to all:

My first post as a new member.

Question: I'm considering adding air conditioning to my '62 as I put it back together. Has anyone had experience with Classic Auto Air Systems of Tampa? They seem to have a system well suited for my application and they are close in case of issues.

All input will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Whit

to the Forum. THis is a great place with lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks. Pics are requested as we all love seeing other people's RIDE.
I'm sure other folks will pipe in soon and perhaps be able to answer your a/c question. Another resource would be your local corvette club or reputable corvette shop. Good luck.
PS: I just realized that you are very close to a great corvette forum member-Kap142. Give him a shout and I bet he can help you out too.

Hey Whit, glad to have you aboard. I'm in the Auburndale area just down the road from you and Fred (Juke3W1) is on 60 just east of Bartow.

As Thor said get some pics up ASAP, we wanna see.

I'll be glad to help anyway I can.

Great group here, many knowledgable and fun folks here.

Very nice Whit!

How about giving us some details on the '62 resto? Engine specs, exterior color, interior color, top, etc.

I helped a good friend do his '62 but that was a long time ago. His turned out great and I am sure yours will also.

My brother and I bought this '62 as a basket case for the fun of restoring it. We had previously restored two Jaguars, but never a Vette. The body had been modified with flares, which we are taking off to return to the original look.

The engine is a 4-bolt 350 date coded 1979...the heads are 'camel hump' 64 cc date coded 1972...the manifold and carburetor are from a 1966 Vette. All that seems strange, but that is the wa y we found it.

The engine has just been 'done' before we bought it and we will use it initially to play with. We have a period 327 that needs a re-build and we will do that 'off-line' after we finish the current project. We eventially will put the 'right' engine into the car...or at least have it available should we decide to sell later on.

Body will be 'bone' stock except the possible addition of air conditioning...we don't want to roast while we play with it. Interior will be red and the body silver.

We are always open to advice, so if anyone has input and/or warnings, please feel free.

Thanks...Whit

Nice to have you hear!!!

We are restoring a '77 that was about in the shape of yours too. I posted pics of before and after.
They spent alot of time making this thing look good for the customer, they are piecing it back together this week actually.
This car looks amazing!!! The last pic is before the car was taken apart. I will post after pics when they're done.

Make sure you post pics when your done with it all, I would love a before and after

Good luck with it all, you'll be in heaven when its done!!
