Default Trunk not closing properly - C6

I think I have my first failure on the C6.

When we got the car, we tried out the trunk opening and closing, as we had watched the DVD showing how you are supposed to just lower the trunk lid and then it will take over and close itself once it reaches a certain point.

Well, today we took it to the grocery store, and when Connie tried to close the trunk lid, it wouldn't do what it was supposed to do. I tried it several times myself, and sure enough, it isn't going through the sequence of closing automatically.

Or are we just doing something wrong here?

Its been an issue with the C6's from the start. From what I gather due to the car being so airtight, many have the same problem. Just hold the lid about 10" above and let it go. Should be fine. Do a search in the CF.

I know a dealership in California that specializes in Trunk Lid and Antenna problems. NOT!

Talking Trunk?

We don't need no stinking trunk. Me and my C3

Default trunk help

Try opening one of your doors to release the pressure then the lid will close just like the demo shows. with the roadster this does not apply.

Yeah, I took it to the dealership last week with a list of things and the assistant service manager and I took a look at the trunk. Apparently with the windows closed the car is TOO air tight, so what you have to do is to lower the deck lid, and then press down on to the back edge until the lock mechanism engages and pulls it shut all the way.
