Default Wix oil filter?

Did anyone catch that mention of Wix oil filters in the latest Corvette Fever magazine? Sounds pretty impressive! I'm going to go ahead and get one and try it out next oil change. Anyone else tried one yet?

The shop that built the turbo kit for my GS-T recomended Wix oil filters and ive used them ever since. havent had any problems as of yet. I was told theyr just a generic looking filter but are the best for the money. better than purolater and fram.

I found a case (12) of them on Ebay at a fair price, so I grabbed them up. I'm a bit surprised to learn that the LS2 oil filter is different than the LS1 and LS6, though. I would have thought they would be the same.

Anyone know what the actual difference is between them?

FYI, LS1 and LS6 uses #51042, whereas LS2 and LS7 uses #57060.

My dad raised me on Wix filters They are suppose to be the top of the line.
I believe they do or at least use to make the NAPA brand filters.

If my recollection is correct, starting in '07 ('06 for the Z06) the OEM filter was changed to the PF-48. This filter includes a built-in check valve and has different threads. Earlier versions (PF-46 and PF-44) won't fit.
Check your owners manual.
