Who did you play hockey for? I love hockey. I used to know a couple of guys that played for the Lightning about 10 years ago.

I spent 18 years "up nawth" based out of Maine, from 78' to 96'....
Played hockey back in the early/mid 80's for a couple of now defunt teams (in MA) in the OLD ECHL, back before it was a "developmental league"....and played 14 games for the old Maine Mariners of the AHL....they were New Jersey's top farm club and the Devils had a lot of players hurt so Maine had a lot of call ups and they needed some warm bodies for a short time. Never played in the NHL although I got to scrimmage with the Devils a few times. I didn't learn to skate until I was about 14, my Dad, who played, taught me....
In those days we played for basially food and bandages...
Actually, I look at the teams playing in the "new and improved" ECHL and don't recognize ANY of the teams except for "the Chiefs"....LOL....
And I understand the NHL is going to make visors mandatory with a grandfather clause if you've been in the league since this year. I think it goes into effect next year.
Hockey was a lot more fun to watch in the 70's when players didn't wear helmets, it was much more personal. And despite what the NHL wants you to believe, helmets have NOT reduced injuries. Heck nowadays everyone goes whacking everybody with their sticks like they are Knights of the Roundtable or something.
Sorry, I like "oldtime" hockey......

I develop weapons for Police/Military training (for the past 7 years). Best job in the world.
Wife being a CPA doesn't hurt either!

I have a boring occupation. I'm a dentist, a specialist in Oral Surgery. Graduated in 1971, so I've been "doing" dentistry for 35 years. That's a LONG time.
I've been in private practice in Bel Air, Maryland since 1975, 31 years in the same office.
Looking forward to getting out of the rat-race in a few years. Chuck

Retired 3 years
I was a Fire Lieutenant for 27 years, on the Fort Lauderdale Fire/Rescue.
I did ALL the exciting stuff:
EMT=Energency medical technician
HAZ/MAT= "mop and glo"
TRT= "dope on rope"
ARFF= Aircraft fire/rescue
Great carrer...glad it's over with all these exotic diseases and the 3 o'clock I bumped my toe calls.
