Heck, we voluntarily cancelled our home owner's insurance last Fall. We figure we are probably just pissing away the money anyway with State Farm. The insurance companies try to scare you into buying their product with their advertising, then when it comes time to collect, those "good hands" and "like a good neighbor" often just seems to vanish.
Heck, if we had just kept the money we spend on that insurance in the bank, we would have quite enough to fix most things anyway.
We wanted to opt out of the hurricane insurance, which was the biggest chunk of the bill, but they wouldn't let us, saying we had to have the whole package. So we decided we didn't want ANY of it.
