SOLD !
I have some C3 rear axle set up tools I thought someone on the Forum might be able to use. Since I sold my C3 I don't need them any more.
With these tools you can remove the axle, replace the bearings and shim the end play without removing the rear axle retainer from the car and taking it to a machine shop to have the bearings replaced. These tools can pay for themselves with one use.
One piece is a "spindle knocker". This tool is threaded on the axle after the retaining nut is removed. You can then beat the axle out of the retainer without removing it from the car and using a press to get it out.
Another piece is a "spindle set up tool". You use this in place of the axle itself to measure and set the bearing end play without removing everything from the car and taking it to the machine shop.
There is also some rear wheel spindle bearing shims of different thicknesses and some bearing spacers that are used to obtain the proper end play clearance.
I'll send along the instruction sheet to guide you through the entire process.
These parts would retail for about $175.
I'll sell all this stuff for $75 plus $15 if I have to ship it.
