Jeesus F'n Christ!! (excuse my french.... I just got ANOTHER jury summons in the mail!! You mean to tell me there aren't more people in Wakulla County where they need to be constantly cycling through the same handfull of people every 18 months or less?

40.01 Qualifications of jurors.--Jurors shall be taken from the male and female persons at least 18 years of age who are citizens of the United States and legal residents of this state and their respective counties and who possess a driver's license or identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles pursuant to chapter 322 or who have executed the affidavit prescribed in s. 40.011.

I hear you, I can remember a few years back when they selected from the property tax rolls. I got to be on a first name basis with a few of my fellow selectees.

Show up as late as possible. The last two times I went to jury duty in Escambia county, they let the people standing in line go because they had enough people that had already signed in. I kicked myself for going early all the other times. I had to sit in there for 6 hours one day just waiting.

Just bite the bullet and go....you might enjoy it. Sometimes these things are entertaining!

This time of year, entertainment is not on my list. Not when I have over 5,000 babies hatching out. And I have been to enough of them to know I can't be wasting my time this time of year on that stuff. Most of the day is spend sitting around doing NOTHING. I just don't have that kind of time available this time of year.

On top of the workload this time of year, I have a guy supposed to fly in from Germany that week to possibly be buying my business, AND it's my birthday on that Tuesday. Now that certainly would be an EXCELLENT birthday present to have the guy hand me a big fat CHECK for my business.... No, I'm not taking the chance of screwing that up by telling him I am not available that week.

Anyway, I called this morning and got it deferred to October. Things should be a LOT quieter around here by then. Once I sell off my business I'll have lots of time to spare, but right now, time is one thing I just don't have to fritter away.
