Default Jacking without pucks

I have a question. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything on it but if you had to, how do you jack-up your C5 without the jacking pucks?

Good question. Since I change my oil every 15 minutes I needed a way to lift the car. I have a 3 ton hydralic floor jack but the C5 sits too low to get it under so I made a couple of ramps out of 2x10's. I cut 3 lengths, 40",27",16" and then screwed them together. I cut the front edges at an angle and added a stop at the top rear. Once the front is up I jack it up further and use jack stands then I jack up the back a little higher to drain the oil. Cost about 10 or 15 bucks for the wood.

Nice. Good lookin' out man thanks. Oh one other thing, do you have to jack up the back also just to change the oil??? I know space down there is limited but I figured I'd ask.

The car needs to be level to get the oil to drain properly, so you would need to jack up the rear also...Also before installing the new filter fill it with oil..

to get all the oil out you should have the back a little higher than the front, and let it drain. When you put the floor jack on the aluminum crossmembers you should also use a small 2x8 between the jack and the crossmember so not to damage it or have the car slide, and use plenty of caution.

Also you may want to reset the oil life indicator...
Turn ignition switch on and press the gas pedal 3 times.

Just check your Owner's Manual. All the jacking info you need.
