As most know I travel among 3-5 counties on a daily basis. When I'm headed to Bradenton and points south, I usually take the vette. Better fuel economy, smoother ride and just nice to have with me when I'm that close to the water
Today I was headed to Bradenton/Sarasota for the day on business. Planned on taking the vette as usual, but looked south and saw a bunch of clouds building. Also mapped out the places I needed to go and one looked like it may be in the middle of BFE, so I decided to take the Landcruiser.
I pull out of my subdivision and stop at the light at the Veterans X-pressway and Ehrlich Road not 3 minutes later. As the light turns green.....BAM!!!
Rear ended by some lady in a convertible Chrysler Sebring!
Funny part was, all I heard was a thud, felt a small jolt and only moved forward because I'd just taken by foot off the brake.
Got out, looked at the cars and asked if she was ok? She was shaking like a leaf
Her hood looked like a pup tent, the grill was toast, my bumper hitch impaled itself into her radiator and the car was bleeding to death.
The plastic cover between the windshield and hood was trashed and the fenders...well, she'll need a couple more.....
My truck?
Radiator coolant on the reciever was the only was you could tell I was even involved
In the end, everyone was ok, no police, no reports, no tickets and no reason for the insurance companies to jack up her insurance
Alls good in the world
And the vette is SAFE
